Interac Approved IDP ENCYPTED PINPAD
for Canadian Applications
The 1K16C104-C-D PINpad
combines an all-metal vandal resistant NEMA 4 keypad with optional
DES and 3-DES encrypting electonics, rugged metal enclosure, and
display to facilitate debit or credit card transactions at direct
payment stations.
KEYPAD
The keypad is all-metal, marine quality finish, and sealed to
IP 65 / NEMA 4 from the front; it offers excellent tactile feedback
with each keystroke. The key tops are laser engraved with English
and French graphics, backfilled for long life, and include a raised
pip on the 5-key to aide sight-impaired customers. In addition
to excellent sealing characterisitcs, the keypad is vandal and
impact resistant, allowing the keypad to be deployed in unsupervised
environments.
ENCRYPTING
ELECTRONICS
The encrypting electronics integrated into this unit
accept keys pressed from the keypad and report the encypted PIN
information to the banking institution’s host computer.
To enhance end-user interaction, the 1K16C104-C-D also provides
audible feedback anytime a key is pressed. Both MasterSession
and DUKPT key management protocols are supported.
DISPLAY
The 1K16C104-C-D incorporates a 2 x 20 illuminated
LCD to prompt end users - in English and French - for
PIN entry. The display is sealed and protected by a
Lexan window.
