12 Keys - Clear and Encrypted Text
The 1K12U205 PINpad is all-metal,
marine quality finish, and sealed to IP 65 / NEMA 4 from the front;
it offers excellent tactile feedback with each keystroke. The PINpad
key tops are engraved, backfilled for long life, and include a
raised pip on the 5-key and raised function symbols to aide sight-impaired
customers (see ADA Advisory 707). In addition to excellent sealing characterisitcs, the PINpad
is vandal and impact resistant allowing it
to be deployed in unsupervised environments.
ENCRYPTING ELECTRONICS
Encrypting electronics accept key presses from the
keypad and report encrypted PIN information to
banking institutions’ host computer. To enhance enduser
interaction, PINpads also provide audible
feedback anytime a key is pressed. Both
MasterSession and DUKPT encryption key
management protocols supported.
CLEAR
vs. ENCRYPTED TEXT
Standard models (204) are designed for PIN entry only; 205 models
allow clear menu and encrypted PIN entry. 205’s requires
increased physical and logical security of application.
PINpads
combine an all-metal vandal resistant NEMA 4 keypad with DES and
3-DES encrypting electonics to facilitate debit or credit card
transactions at payment stations.
